MESSAGE ON THE RBQ – CMMTQ – CMEQ DELAYS
FOR THE RBQ
We are coming back to validate that the RBQ deadlines are as follows despite what is circulating:
Montreal and major cities: 2 to 3 weeks.
Remote cities: 4 weeks.
FOR THE CMMTQ
The CMMTQ has presently a 3 months waiting time.
They are processing requests from December 2023, at this date, being mid-March 2024.
We hope they can catch up soon.
FOR THE CMEQ
The CMEQ advises that it currently takes 5 to 6-month waiting time to process requests.

Dear Client,
DEADLINE: MARCH 31, 2024
This message serves to remind contractors who hold or will hold an RBQ license, that the guarantors in the execution of work execution subclasses of Appendix 1, and certain subclasses of Appendix II, will have to follow continuous training, per period of 2 years, depending on the number of hours requested individually according to your file by the RBQ.
The hours will vary between 16 and 32 hours. RBQ will advise, and has already advised since March 2022, by mail, each contractor in this matter by letting them know how many hours are requested.
These training courses are on the RBQ website and are offered only by authorized organizations.

To all our clients,
This message is addressed to all our clients who wish to apply for CCQ recognition of hours.
Whether it is for hours as an employee or a file that you are going to build over several months with invoices for work performed outside the CCQ, know that you must complete the experience sheet and that of the signature for EACH period of hours or EACH invoice that you are going to submit.

Note: For invoices submitted outside the CCQ, it will be wise to ensure that the description of your invoices clearly demonstrates the time and the amount of money invoiced relating to the trade in question.
Example: if you are aiming for the card in painting, then make sure to clearly indicate everything that relates to this portion in order to obtain as many hours as possible from the CCQ.

To all our clients,
To all future contractor who is in the process of obtaining an RBQ license. You must know that until you have your license issued, you CANNOT work, or advertise or quote for jobs.
In 2023 you must know that the CMMTQ, the CCQ, the RBQ and also City inspectors are out there and there is a good chance that you will get caught.
We have received already 15 people that have received the visit of the mentioned inspectors and half got a fine.
We suggest you be careful as the minimum fine with the fees is close to $22,000. Also remember that normally contractors get caught because they are denounced by others that hold the license and they do not like you, but this year the inspectors are on the road everywhere.
